Curriculum vitae 

Wilhelm Horn is a co-founder of Accovion and has been one of its managing directors since January 2002. In the board of managing directors, he is in particular responsible for study management, study operations, monitoring, medical writing, pharmacovigilance and health outcomes research. 

Previously, he held positions as head of clinical development and as a global project leader with Aventis (formerly Hoechst AG) in Frankfurt, Germany; as head of clinical research of the Strategic Business Unit Rheumatology / Immunology; and as medical director of Cassella-Riedel. He started his career in the industry as a clinical manager with Hoechst in 1989.

Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Wilhelm completed his clinical training in internal medicine at the university hospital of Giessen, Germany. During that time, he also did research on leukocyte function and spent a year at Harvard Medical School.

Wilhelm holds an MSc in Chemistry (Dipl Chem) and did his MD thesis (Dr. med) in immunology. He is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine.
